Do I need my own gun to take a class?
No. If you currently own a firearm that is suitable for your class, then you are encouraged to bring it. However, we have loaners and rentals available should you need them. One advantage in our classes is the ability assess various firearms that may help you choose the right one for you later on.
What is the minimum age for classes?
We suggest no one younger than 12 attend our classes, and anyone under the age of 18 is required to have a parent register and attend the class with them.
What class should I take first?
If you are a beginner, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you take the Introduction to Basic Handgun Safety course or some private training sessions. If you are a novice but familiar with handgun operations, then the Concealed Carry and Home Defense Level 1 course is perfect. Our goal is to make sure you are not afraid to own, carry or use a firearm in defense of yourself or others.
Where are the classes held and how long are they?
Classes are held at a variety of ranges and facilities in the north-metro area (Canton, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Jasper) and are based on the curriculum covered. Some courses are only delivered outdoors, and others do not require a shooting range. Classes range from 3 hours to 8 and class length and requirements are detailed in the class outlines.
